Founded in 2007 by President and CEO, Silver Benson, the Youth Gospel Entertainment & Arts Awards mission is to reach youth in numbers for the purpose of planting seeds about Christ, saving souls, and/or bringing youth closer to Christ through entertainment and arts.  The YGEA Award’s vision is to provide young positive entertainers, designers, and dancers with an avenue to showcase their anointed gifts and to serve as a platform for the world to come out every year, fellowship, and have a good time with others.  Ms. Benson, states, “We represent what most people won’t:  Underground Inspirational Talent.”  We represent and promote all genres of gospel music and all forms of positive entertainment.

It is YGEA Award’s goal to serve as a mechanism to offer youth hope in fulfilling their dreams and aspirations.  She goes on to say, “We exemplify the character of the ‘Most High’ and show youths that they are noticed, appreciated, and play a very important role in shaping the future.  We are committed to making a lasting impression on these youth that will permeate to other youth and peers outside the four walls of the church.  The YGEA Awards is the place where the street and church meet.”  We provide ‘positive entertainment that serves a purpose’.

Awards will be given to recipients who have made positive contributions to their community through their ministry.  Also, select Youth Pastors/Directors are selected every year to receive a Visionary Award based on their input in and outside the church as well as their vision to impact the youth.

As the YGEA Awards continue to grow, new categories will be added to offer youth more opportunities to fulfill their dreams.
